Photographic research for contents page

I have decided to focus on the images that I am going to put in my contents page. From my general research I came across a picture that I liked and suited the style of the look I am going for. By creating images that are eye catching and in style will hopefully make my magazine more appealing to my audience and make it a more successful piece of work. I am also going to look at some good concert pictures and then try and choose some of the better photos that I have taken at concerts to put on my own contents page.

This is an image from a contents page that I featured in my general research. Immediately this picture caught my eye and drew me in, which is especially why I wanted to create something similar for my own contents page. Although this image looks fairly difficult to achieve I think my by using the tool sin photo shop i will be able to use blurring tools, and some highlighters and colour effects to create something very close to this one. The pose is fairly laid back and casual which will be easy to achieve with one of my own models. Although this image is of a boy I am going to be using a female model just because in all of my other research girls are used in the contents pages and my target audience is ultimately for females.







I have specifically chosen to look at pictures of a Katy Perry concert because it is someone who's concert I have actually been to myself before. This image is one that I found on the Internet and may well have been taken by a professional or someone who was very very close up. The image is clear and bright and colourful, and you can clearly tell that it is music focused from all of the bright lights and the microphone that she is wearing. I am going to look at my own pictures and try and select the best ones that I can. I do not think i am going to edit any of the concert pictures otherwise they will lose their natural/concert-vibe sort of look that I want to keep within my contents page.


I am going to put both of these pictures of concerts next to each other and show the male and female artists. I think my doing this they will compliment each other as one is very bright and colourful and the other is much more masculine, and I chose to have 2 instead of one to show  a variation within my magazine. However are both artists I believe my target audience will enjoy reading about in a magazine.

This is another concert picture that I found on the Internet of an Example concert. I have not been to one of his concerts but I just used it to get a feel for a male artist in concert because I have pictures form one that I have been to. I think that the poses are pretty similar and mine are actually closer up and not as pixelated because I happened to be very very close at the concert.
