First Photoshoot
This
image is of all of the pictures I took in my first photo shoot for my
front cover. Overall the pictures were fairly successful and some of
them are better than others due to lighting and camera settings. from
all of the pictures i took and narrowed it down to 3 images that i
thought were the best. With these two images i noticed hings that could
be I'm,proved in a re-Shoot and decided it would be best to take these
images and do another shoot in light of the best images.
This
is the first of the two images that I liked best. I like the pose which
is linked to my research with the hand on the models face. However
there are a few faults that are too difficult to get rid of in editing.
The watch on her wrist does not look very good and looks it of place in
the picture therefore next time I will make sure the model has no
unwanted jewelry on. The picture is quite dark and in my research the
images on front covers are much more bright. I also think that this
image is a bit too close and doesn't have enough space at the top. In
the re-shoot I will make sure the picture is taken further away.
I
did try other sources of light which turned out to not work very well
either. With the previous pictures I dimmed the lights and used the
flash on my camera which created shadows. For this image I turned the
light on completely in the room and took the flash off of the camera.
This however did not work very well and make the pictures look a
yellow/orange tinted colour and still created shadows so I decided to
return to my original source of light.
RE-SHOOTING
I
am going to re-shoot for the front cover using the same model and
outfit as the previous one. This time I am going to use a white
back-drop sheet and two lights so the picture is bright and not as harsh
on the model's face. The hair and make-up will be done in the same way.
Second Photoshoot
4 FINAL PICTURES
In
order to make my photos better I used 2 studio lamps that were placed
either side of the model in order to light her face better and make her
skin tone more brighter and even. I placed my model further away from
the back drop to prevent shadows being created which happened in the
previous photo-shoot. The make-up I did slightly subtler, especially on
the lips, I used a brighter colour to enhance the brightness of the
green leotard. With the hair, I kept it in the same style except i made
the hair slightly more sleek and less fluffy, as this would become an
obstacle when I tried to edit the background of the picture.
These
2 pictures are quite similar and the top one was my first choice. I
chose this one over the other as it had her elbows fully in the shot and
her face was slightly more focused and centred. However I then realised
that her head was cut off and the top and it is the wrong shape and
size for a magazine as it was took quite close up and horizontally. The
second image is in fact brighter and shows more of her body, making the
model look slimmer which works well with what I found in my research of
this type of magazine. Therefore I have chosen to use this image for my
front page but I will cut some of the space at the top off so it does
not look too empty.
